My nutty life .

 Our baby....
Back to Full Blog

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE We found our baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went out and hung up signs this afternoon and within 20 minutes or so we got a call from a neighbor about a half a mile down the road. He had shown up this morning and went into their garage and wouldn't come out. They had no clue who's dog this was and didn't know what to do until the woman was coming home from work and spotted the sign I put up and called. He apparently had a run in with a skunk lol that poor dog went through about 5 washings when I got him home. He is limping on one foot as well. But after all his cleanings and after he ate , he slept and is still sleeping. We are soooooooo relieved! I am so thankful for everyones comments and prayers of support!!!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wanted to thank Rubble for posting over at her blog about our boxer baby being gone. I think yesterday when it all was happening I was just in shock. We got Sargent from a boxer rescue service a little over 8 years ago and fell in love with him from the second we saw him. He has been the best dog we have ever owned in all aspects. We are so confused as to why he wandered off, other then thinking maybe because he is around 9 years old and has had an attack of senility. He has always been an indoor dog. He hates the outside other then to go out and do his business or if we are outside he likes to lay out on the deck by us. We were all outside yesterday though and that confuses us even more so, though we were all a bit busy in our own ways and not really thinking we needed to keep an eye on him. Never had to before. The kids are all upset and I think I am even more upset this morning as it has sunk in a bit more. I was hoping to get up this morning and find him out on the deck sleeping waiting for us to let him in. All of our closet neighbors now have our number and know where we live so if they see him they can let us know and I am going to post Lost signs up and hope for the best. We drove around many, many times last night looking for him, whistling for him, and yelling for him to no avail. We live out in the country and we are surrounded by woods everywhere so by now he could be anywhere. I thank those of you who have offered your prayers to us imensely. That's all I have been doing myself. I will keep you updated on if he returns back where he belongs! My Sargie

He is a beauty and I totally understand how heart-sick you feel. I sometimes even "dream" that my dog is lost and I wake up soooo upset. You don't think someone may have stolen him, do you? I sure hope he wanters back home this afternoon. Prayers & hugs, Girl!! Keep us posted.

I really hope he comes back home soon. I know how awful it is to be afraid for your baby.

Here's hoping Sargent finds his way home. I hate to imagine what our home would be like without our dog here to greet us.

How are you going to prevent this from happening again?

I was soooo smiling when I read your email!!!

I am ecstatic for you!!!!

boxer dogs

You naughty doggie don't you ever run away from ALL OF US ever again! You had us worried! LOL

I'd hug ya' but you smell a teensy bit like Pepe LePew!

Oh gosh, I just remembered, my former in laws had two boxers, Sunny and Stormy and they were SO good with my kids when they were young!! So gentle and playful...well, more so when they got a bit older...as puppies they could be a handful! But sweet dogs!

You will sleep so much better tonite Nutty! Whew....

My dad thinks that because he was sprayed by a skunk that could have been what caused him to take off. When a dog is sprayed in the eyes by a skunk they are temporairily blinded and he thinks he may have not realized where he was going because of it. But, he is not going outside with someone by his side that's for darn sure. My dad said we maybe should put him on a leash or chain when he goes out but he has neverrrrrr been on one, never was a need for it and I dont want to do that to him now. We will just be with him.

He is our 3rd boxer we have owned for the fact that they are such gentle dogs with kids and very playful. Other then his grey eyebrows you would never know he was almsot 9 by the way he plays.

He is smelling much better now too lol and sleeping back on the couch in his favorite spot.

Thank you again Rubble and everyone for the positive thoughts!!!!!
