My nutty life .

 Last night

Well, my oldest daughter graduated last night from her vocational school. I made it through the entire thing untill we were outside and right after I took her picture I gave her a hug and could barely get the words out "I'm proud of you" because we were both bawling lol I told my husband how weird it felt being there and having our first one through school already. It just seems like yesterday that I was doing her hair and getting her ready for her first day of Kindergarten. They said we wern't allowed to yell, whistle, or clap for anyone untill they were through each seperate class but I didn't care as didn't most of the parents. Hey when you get your kid through school that's an accomplishment don't tell us not to yell and cheer for our kid!!!
Here she is accepting her diploma:
Outside afterwards:
My dad with 4 of my other kids:
Well one graduation down one to go on Saturday

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.

 The weekend is gone......

Well the 3 day weekend is behind me now. The kids went back to school, hubby took his friend home and went on to work. It was a bit of a crazy weekend to say the least and I am going to cherish these few days this week that my kids are still in school before summer break.

My oldest daughter has her first graduation tonight. I say first because she has went to a vocational school for the last 2 years so she will have a ceremony for that school and then Saturday she will graduate from her regular high school here in town.

I'm happy and sad all at the same time over this. Happy because I thank goodness I finally have one graduating lol and sad for all the years that have gone by and I will never get back. I get in these weird moods sometimes and think about getting old and that someday I won't be here for my kids. Hopefully I have a long way to go before that happens but one never knows what's around the corner for them.

We got most of our hosue painted this weekend and I think it looks like a whole new house now!! I love it!!! Hubby and his friend along with some help from me and some of the kids worked our butts off this weekend in 90 degree days. It really needed done but one of the incentives was the fact that I'm going to be having Megan's grad party here and I'm trying to make everything just right. We are running out of time though , not many days left to do all we want to and there is a little bit of painting left, a shed to put together, general outside cleaning up and then the whole inside of the house I still want to do.

Although yesterday when I asked my daughter to do the simple chore of vacumning the living room and was given attitude back over it and I in return said you live here you can help out, especially when we are outside alllll day trying to make everything look good for your party, I was then told well I didn't ask for the party here. I felt like a piece of crap. I wondered why in the hell am I doing all this trying to make everything just right for her when she could care less. She hurt my feelings so bad. I just wanted to say to hell with it all. But today I will continue on with my quest to make everything perfect for her.

Yesterday , not too long after hubby and his friend went out to start painting the back of the house, the only part left, the electricity went out in the whole house. Our outside main breaker to the whole house went kaput. Great, it's Memorial Day so noone in this small crap hole town is open what are we going to do !!!! I ended up finding out that I couldn't just go buy another breaker because the company that made mine went out of business and the only place I could get one that would replace it was in California. I'm in Ohio!!!!! I ended up having to drive 30 minutes to the next bigger town and buying something to replace the entire service box outside so after 6 hours with no electricity hubby and another friend of his who does electrical work got us all fixed up and the central air got turned back on lol .

Well, if anyone wants to come and help me put a shed together today , finish painting, and spring clean a house let me know. I will have a fresh pitcher of lemonade waiting on you!

 Memorial Day

The History of Memorial Day

Memorial Day was originally known as "Decoration Day" because it was a time set aside to honor the nation's Civil War dead by decorating their graves. It was instituted in 1868 to commemorate the sacrifices of Civil War soldiers and has since grown to honor all those who have given their lives in services to their country.

Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on May 5, 1868 by General John Logan and was first observed on May 30, 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. The first state to officially recognize the holiday was New York in 1873. By 1890 it was recognized by all of the northern states. (Source: USMemorialDay.com - History of Memorial Day www.usmemorialday.org/backgrnd.html./

"Your silent tents of green
We deck with fragrant flowers;
Yours has the suffering been,
The memory shall be ours."

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
~~~~~
Eulogy for a Veteran
Author Unknown
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day.....My thoughts are with all of you that have lost someone special and hope that on this day you will have good memories of the loved ones lost whether it be to a war or otherwise. Thank you to all the soldiers out there that have fought to keep my family and I free. Thank you for giving up so much to protect us so unselfishly.
